The use of concrete is a simple way to gain LEED (R) credits on any project. MSG has worked closely with contractors and have certified insulated concrete wall installers on-staff that can assist you with your ICF project. Below are a few ways MSG reduces our impact on the environment:

-99.9% efficient on-demand direct contact hot water heaters for wintertime concrete.

-MSG is currently transitioning to use of Holcim's OneCem product. Manufactured with quality limestone, OneCem uses less clinker than the traditional portland cement and reduces CO2 emissions by five to ten percent per ton of cement.  https://www.holcim.us/onecem

-MSG successfully completed and continues to work within the energy management guidelines of Colorado's Industrial Strategic Energy Management (I-SEM) program

-Leftover concrete is used for concrete blocks or reprocessed to make road base, another way to gain LEED (R) points on your project.

-Use of low-emissions engines

-Experimenting with use of e-vehicles for light-duty use, including future installation of e-charging docks at batch plant locations

-Reduction of equipment and truck idle time.

-Used oil heater at the shop facility for disposal of all refused petroleum products on-site.

-Our plants have central dust collection systems to capture any dust from batching or unloading of cement into the silos, which in turn is reused.

-MSG has a program to assist with the LEED (R) Rating System credit calculation by using recycled and regional material values and printable summaries are available for all of our mix designs.

-We use fly ash (a byproduct of coal power plants) in most mixes, which is not only a good use for this waste product but also adds great characteristics to concrete finish ability
